Andrew Glenn, Head of Sales and Marketing for Intuit Ireland, explains what’s new at QuickBooks and how the company is tracking.
It is one year since accounting software giant, Intuit, launched the Irish version of its accounting software, QuickBooks Online, in the Irish market. It has made significant inroads in this short period and since then, the company’s commitment to the market has grown.
In this article, Andrew Glenn, Head of Sales and Marketing at Intuit Ireland, explains what’s new at QuickBooks and how the company is tracking.
“We are thrilled with the progress we have made in Ireland. The region is really important to us, and we invested heavily to build a solution that will streamline processes and drive efficiency for local accountants and small business owners,” says Andrew.
QuickBooks Online is the global leader in accountancy solutions with around 4.5 million users. It invests heavily in the product and focuses on prioritising customer needs, and initial feedback has been positive from both small business owners and accountants alike.
The practice management solution, QuickBooks Online Accountant, allows accountants to manage their work and practice in one handy location. The solution harnesses technology like artificial intelligence and machine learning to reduce the number of manual processes required to manage client and practice accounting processes. “We have automated bank feeds with most of the Irish banks now, and this is an area we continue to work on,” says Andrew.
To further strengthen its offering, QuickBooks recently launched mixed-mode reporting. It allows users and accountants to report on VAT on either a cash or accrual basis.
Accessibility is important for QuickBooks users. As a web-based solution, QuickBooks Online also has a free app for Android and Apple devices that allows users to log in to their account at any time from anywhere. They can send quotes, invoices, and reminders as well as view the dashboard. Basically, they have access to all their financial data while on the go. “Irish accountants love the app too,” adds Andrew. “Being able to answer client questions while they are out and about has transformed client service delivery for many.”
Intuit is committed to delivering a value-for-money solution, one that harnesses the latest technology and is easy to use. The solution is packed with features you would expect in an enterprise-level solution. “We are committed to supporting our Irish accountants and provide QuickBooks Online Accountant for free. There is no charge to access this powerful solution,” says Andrew.
Several free training programmes are available for accountants. QuickBooks want to ensure that accountants can harness the power of the software, and so it provides a comprehensive, free certification programme. A local team of account managers is also ready to support Irish accountants.
In addition, Intuit provides wholesale billing programmes that allow accountants to save 50% on the recommended retail price. According to Andrew, Accountants can pass the savings on to their clients or pocket the difference and generate a lucrative revenue stream for their practice. “We make it easy to work with us. We don’t lock accountants into contracts; they simply pay by the month,” he adds.
