Revenue change in banking payments

Aug 26, 2019

Over the coming months, Revenue will be closing all existing Electronic Funds Transfer “EFT” accounts with Bank of Ireland and AIB following the transition of commercial bank accounts to Danske Bank.  According to Revenue, details of alternative online payment methods will be communicated to taxpayers affected by this transition.

Revenue has commenced the transition of commercial bank accounts to Danske Bank on a phased basis with the bank accounts used for EFT payments being the first category to move to Danske Bank.  According to a note provided to us from Revenue, the expected go-live for the new Danske Bank accounts is 1 October 2019.

The note from Revenue also reminds taxpayers of their obligations under mandatory e-filing as per section 917EA Taxes Consolidation Act 1997
