Developments of interest this week are set out below.   

Chartered Accountants Ireland 

  • Chartered Accountants Ireland has issued comment on IAASB’s Exposure Drafts for quality management at the firm and engagement level including engagement quality reviews.




  • Following their June 2019 meeting, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) have analysed their work plan to see what changes have resulted from the meeting and other de­vel­op­ments since the work plan was last revised in April.
  • The IASB has posted a webcast that discusses con­clu­sions reach at by the IFRS In­ter­pre­ta­tion Committee related to the ap­pli­ca­tion of IAS 23, ‘Borrowing Costs’ and its in­ter­ac­tion with IFRS 15, ‘Revenue from Contracts with Customers’.
  • The World Standard-setters Conference will take place in London on 30 September and is open to all national standard-setters.
  • The IASB has proposed amendments to the insurance contracts Standard, IFRS 17, for public consultation.
