One of our core FMCG mnc clients is seeking a Senior Group Finance Accountant who will be working as part of a small team responsible for the preparation of the Company's and Group’s monthly consolidated management accounts, half-yearly and annual consolidated IFRS financial statements and presentations, preparation of budgets and forecasts, preparation of reporting packages to the Board. The role will also include leading the technical accounting projects within the Group. This is a 1 year contract.

Major Responsibilities And Tasks/Duties Of The Position
• Working in a small team and reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller with responsibility for;
o Monthly consolidated management accounts including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement
o Budgeting and forecasting
o Year-end consolidation
o Preparation and production of the Annual Report
o Preparation of the interim and preliminary stock exchange announcements
o Preparation of AGM, interim and preliminary results investor presentations
o Interaction with external auditors
• Preparation, review and presentation to the Finance Director of monthly consolidated management and statutory accounts including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow
• Assist the Group Financial Controller with the coordination of the annual audit and half-year review activities performed by the external auditors
• Assist in the management, preparation and production of the Annual Report
• Assist in the management and preparation and production of interim and preliminary results announcements and presentations
• Assisting in the management of the annual budget process
• Perform accounting research and analysis of new transactions, business initiatives and new accounting pronouncements and document the appropriate accounting treatment
• Work with the divisions to respond to questions and implement process improvements in order to create efficiencies and reduce timeframes for deliverables
• Assist with ad hoc requests and special projects including acquisition due diligence activities and integration of newly-acquired business

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill And Experience Requirements)
• Minimum of 2+ years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience at a Big 4 or large accounting firm, preferably on publicly traded clients
• IFRS financial reporting experience
• Experience using web-based financial reporting applications preferred
• Solid background and understanding of accounting principles, including the preparation of financial statements and technical accounting experience
• Experience in statutory reporting requirements and preparation of annual reports for publicly listed companies.
• Understanding of Corporate Governance requirements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications
• Ability to effectively prioritise multiple projects in order to meet tight deadlines and produce high quality work is required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work well both independently and in a team environment is required
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
• Chartered Accountant
• Plc accounting or financial reporting experience
