Our client is a specialist banking & Loans corporate.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the Monthly Management Accounts, Financial Reporting process and Budgeting / Forecasting for key group companies. S/he will also assist the Financial Controller in implementing and managing financial controls and processes, financial reporting, discrete regulatory reporting and project work.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Management Accounts & Year End Audit
Prepare monthly management accounts for group companies.
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting process.
Prepare annual financial statements and liaise with auditors.
Financial Processes & Controls
Maintain process, procedures & controls documentation.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Review supplier reconciliations.
Review payment runs.
Review 3rd party reconciliations.
Preparation of bank reconciliations.
Other/Projects
Monthly investor reporting.
Banking administration.
Assisting the Regulatory Reporting Accountant with preparation of quarterly and ad-hoc Central Bank returns and performing validation checks to source data.
Assistance with preparation of annual Corporation Tax returns.
Ad hoc projects as required.
Knowledge and Experience
Qualified or Newly Qualified ACA with at least 3 years’ industry experience or medium-sized practice training.
Strong practical application of accounting knowledge and experience in accounts preparation.
Excellent PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel. Experience of Sun Systems or equivalent is desirable.
A self-starter with good initiative, strong attention to detail and execution focus.
Possesses excellent analytical and numerical skills balanced with strong questioning approach.
Strong planning and organisation skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent report presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Good team player, including supporting more junior finance colleagues.
