About Chartered Accountants Support

Chartered Accountants Support (CA Support) is the service which provides emotional and practical supports to 29,500 members and 6,000 students of Chartered Accountants Ireland and their families.

This is achieved through the proactive provision of wellbeing and mental health supports through several key channels – CA Support’s dedicated website, videos, and on-line resources, along with tailored support where members and students require a more comprehensive response.  This may be in the form of professional counselling, mindset/resilience training, financial grants, or other appropriate interventions.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and delivering an integrated, and effective fundraising and marketing roadmap for CA Support. The main deliverables are two-fold; to improve awareness of the service offering while simultaneously managing an increase in donations YOY.

Key objectives are:

  • Achieving specific financial objectives in respect of donations and cost management
  • Driving increased brand awareness
  • Understanding the key priorities of the service while actively researching new approaches to engage and answer the holistic needs of members and students.

You will be responsible for all internal and external communications and marketing activity, working in collaboration with colleagues from Chartered Accountants Ireland to achieve consistency in messaging to enhance and strengthen brand recognition.

You will create and deliver an annual fundraising programme for CA Support, establishing new individual-giving campaigns, managing donor appeals, and designing a best-in-class corporate donor programme.

The Fundraising & Marketing Officer will report to the Manager of CA Support.

Main Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and deliver a fundraising programme, to include prospect research, grant writing support, building sponsor programme administration, and programme marketing.
  • Managing participant, member, and donor data in accordance with GDPR.
  • Developing and implementing social media strategy and communications activities, appropriate to each donor demographic, including website content management, writing blogs, posts, and other media-related communications.
  • Responsibility for the marketing and logistics for fundraising events, including sourcing prizes and sponsorship.
  • Attend and participate in event-related activities and meetings outside of office hours.
  • Reporting against key KPIs for the role

The Person

To be successful in this role you will need a proven track record of devising and managing successful individual-giving campaigns while delivering effective marketing and communications strategies from concept through to execution with measurable results.  You will also need significant experience of digital and direct marketing processes

Competencies and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have experience of marketing and fundraising in the not-for-profit sector. Specifically, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills; knowing when to seek to understand, when to influence, and when to listen, be a natural communicator and wordsmith with a feel for language and tone both in person and through the written word.
  • Fundraising and grant-writing experience.
  • Proficiency in analysis of data including interpreting survey results, identifying limitations and barriers, and providing solutions.
  • Proven experience of managing projects and events to a high standard with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving with the ability to synthesize complex information for understanding at all levels of the organization.
  • An understanding of CSR (corporate, social responsibility) issues.Strong social media skills, research skills, analytical and budgeting ability.
  • Be adaptive and proactive to priorities and perspectives of corporate partners and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, understanding and empathy with key stakeholders.
  • Self-motivation with an ability to work to tight timescales and meet deadlines.
  • A growth mindset and a willingness to get involved and embrace innovation.
  • A high level of discretion when dealing with confidential internal and external issues.
  • Most importantly, a passion for helping people and making a real difference to the service.
