The Role:

The Marketing and Communications team at Chartered Accountants Ireland delivers a range of services to members and students across marketing, digital, web, PR and sponsorship. In order to deliver an ambitious programme of work in 2018 and create capacity within the team to cover maternity leave for one team member, we are looking to recruit a Marketing & Communications Assistant. This is a one-year fixed term contract and will report to the Marketing Manager. Key to the success of this role will be a can-do attitude and an appetite to gain a broad range of experience across a variety of marketing and communications disciplines. 

The Expectations:

The Marketing Assistant will be involved in:

  • Student recruitment –  for example: events (inhouse, at 3rd level and in relation to schools), merchandising, social media, customer service
  • Email marketing –  liaise with colleagues across the Institute to coordinate a range of email marketing campaigns and newsletters
  • Press, PR, brand management support –  support the Press & PR function with media monitoring, photography, annual report, and other areas
  • Sponsorship support –  support the Sponsorship function with rollout of sponsorship strategy as required
  • Administration – support the Director and rest of team with other duties as required 

The Candidate:

The Marketing Assistant ideally have 1-2 years’ experience in marketing, communications or customer service role or have degree-level  equivalent professional qualification. This experience may have been achieved by an internship or work placement programme.

Just as importantly, you will be a highly organised positive self-starter with strong administration skills.

Other desirable skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in a range of marketing techniques – events and email marketing particularly welcome
  • Excellent written communications skills   
  • Enthusiasm and appetite to learn
  • Very strong team player able to deal with changing priorities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Interest / aptitude to learn about professional services / education sector
