Summary of Role

We are at the beginning of an exciting journey to introduce new applications that will better serve our students, members, firms, and other users. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize both user-facing processes and internal operations. The Product Owner role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future while assisting the implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform.

As part of a collaborative team of three Product Owners/Business Analysts, the successful candidate will take ownership of functional requirements and support non-functional requirements in partnership with the Solution Architect and Operations team. This includes working closely with suppliers and stakeholders across the organisation—such as Architects, QA, and Operations—to ensure the solution meets expectations and delivers value.

The Product Owner will continuously review solutions to identify synergies and enhance both user experience and internal workflows. A data-driven approach and focus on KPIs will guide prioritization and decision-making. While the primary focus will be on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, the role may also assist other areas such as Dynamics 365 CE or the website during implementation. Post-launch, the Product Owner will be responsible for ongoing improvements and adoption of new functionality within the Finance solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to identify the business needs, key risks, dependencies etc.
  • Analyse the requirements against the functionality of the platform and find the best way to meet the requirements.
  • Work with the business to identify ongoing opportunities to deliver better customer experience or better ways of working in a structured manner.
  • Gather and align with end-users the functional and non-functional requirements, aligning them towards industry’s best practice.
  • Work with stakeholders and document detailed design and acceptance criteria for both functional and non-functional requirements and for project deliverables.
  • Execute gap analysis against proposed technologies.
  • Assume responsibility for planning requirements gathering and requirements management.
  • Organise, review and/or release of the documentation when required.
  • Assist the development teams by clarifying the requirements and design.
  • Initiate communication inside and outside the team to ensure effective implementation of the proposed solution.

The candidate

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in gathering requirements for a large-scale application replacement project.
  • Experience working with financial applications MS Dynamics 365.
  • F&O/Business Central or earlier versions of Dynamics are essential as well as good knowledge of functional opportunities and best practices in MS Dynamics 365.
  • Experience working with MS Power Platform and CE.
  • Experience in collaborative collaboration data design with customers and/or end-users.
  • Experience in writing user stories and product backlog.
  • Experience managing senior Finance stakeholders.
  • Experience with Scrum and Agile and ideally the ability to demonstrate thought leadership and coaching in these new ways of working.
