After the Spring Budget took place last month on Wednesday 6 March, the Spring Finance Bill 2024 (official title Finance (No. 2) Bill 2023-24) was published. The Bill reflects many of the tax measures announced as part of the Spring Budget. Second reading of the Bill has now been scheduled and will take place on Wednesday 17 April 2024.
Later this week on Thursday 18 April 2024, Tax Administration and Maintenance Day is due to take place. This now annual fiscal event is expected to contain details of the Government's work in simplifying administration of the tax system.
