Our client is a leading publisher in Ireland, distributor, and retailer.
This role can be done on 3 or 6 monthss or on a permanent long term basis.
It can also be a 4 day per week role if preferred (pro-rata)
salary is circa €70/75k base + 10% bonus.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Financial Controller will be responsible for :-
1. Financial Reporting - including preparation of management accounts, financial analyses, budgeting and forecasting to deadlines.
2. Working Capital Management - monitoring and management of cash flows associated with Stocks, Debtors, Creditors and Taxation liabilities.
3. Participate in key business decisions, strategic initiatives and related implementations.
4. Interact and develop relationships with the Board, Audit & Finance Committee, External Auditors and Bankers.
5. Review financial / operational information providing insightful analysis and business recommendations. Provide assistance to management in driving the business forward.
6. Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and procedures, including process improvements. Maintain accuracy and integrity across information systems.
7. Oversee financial management of foreign transactions and ensure compliance with financial and company filing requirements.
8. Mentor and develop the finance team, managing work allocation, training, performance evaluation and build an effective team dynamic.
9. Manage the company payroll, taxation and company law requirements.
Competencies Required
Fully Qualified FCA / ACA
1. Maturity, strong commercial acumen skills and relevant accounting qualifications.
2. Retail experience and analytical capabilities,
3. Leadership and experience in engaging and establishing positive working relationships with stakeholders and a good fit with the Veritas mission, values and culture.
4. Good communication capability in building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and staff.
