EXTERN MEMBERS WITH FINANCIAL/ AUDIT EXPERIENCE OR SKILLSET BEING SOUGHT FOR ROTUNDA BOARD FINANCE AND AUDIT COMMITTEE
The Board of Governors of the Rotunda Hospital is seeking accountants, auditors or members with finance skillsets and experience to join the Finance and Audit Committee of the Rotunda hospital on a voluntary basis as an External Expert Member.
The Rotunda Hospital is a voluntary hospital with an independent Board of Governors which manages its commitments and responsibilities through Board Committees, Sub-Committees and Working Groups. The Finance and Audit Committee is one of these committees.
Purpose of the Finance and Audit Committee
The Finance and Audit Committee will have overall responsibility for monitoring corporate financial governance structures of the Rotunda Hospital and advising the Board on areas of failings and exposure to non-compliance with financial standards and financial risks. This will include managing the relationship with both external auditor and internal auditor to ensure compliance with regulation and standards for all financial reporting.
The Finance Committee is an advisory committee of the Rotunda Board, which reports directly to the Board of Governors. Financial Advices provided incorporate strategic financial planning, resource management, budget setting and monitoring, financial policy related issues and to provide timely advice to Board on areas within its remit.
The Committee is made up of a mix of Board Governors and External Experts. The Committee meets approximately 5 times during the year.
The Rotunda Hospital is the oldest working stand alone maternity hospital in the world. The hospital provides a full range of services to meet the needs of pregnant women and their babies as well as women’s healthcare services and is a tertiary referral centre for acutely ill babies. The Rotunda as a voluntary hospital is also a leader in research and innovation.
