Our client is a legal services provider seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Executive / Senior Accountant to join the finance team. This role will encompass a wide range of finance-related tasks, with key responsibilities for managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, bookkeeping, and supporting the general finance function.
This role is PART TIME (25/30 hrs p/w) and ideal for an experienced FCA returning to the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management
• Maintain and update the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring all invoices are accurate and issued on time.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Process payments received and apply them to customer accounts accurately.
• Monitor overdue accounts and escalate as necessary.
• Assist with credit control, including reviewing credit terms, monitoring credit limits, and following up on outstanding payments.
• Prepare and maintain reports on accounts receivable aging and outstanding balances.
Accounts Payable Management
• Process incoming supplier invoices, ensuring all details are accurate and in line with company policies.
• Manage supplier payment runs and ensure timely settlement of outstanding liabilities.
• Maintain accurate records of all payments made and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
• Assist in managing vendor relationships and communicate with suppliers regarding payment queries.
Bookkeeping
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure that all transactions are correctly categorized in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post journal entries as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports by ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
Cash Collection
• Monitor daily cash collections and ensure timely deposit into company accounts.
• Contact customers to ensure the timely collection of outstanding debts and resolve any payment issues.
• Provide regular updates to the finance manager on cash collection status and outstanding balances.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth resolution of payment issues or disputes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients to encourage timely payments.
General Finance Support
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy of financial records.
• Support the FC with financial reporting, including preparing trial balances, financial statements, and reconciliation tasks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements for internal and external reporting.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team, as required.
Your profile
You have at least a number of years experience in a finance or accounts-related role, with strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, bookkeeping, and general finance functions. Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar, you demonstrate excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills. You communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and colleagues and can work both independently and as part of a team.
ACA, CPA, FCA is desirable, along with experience using Sage and/or Salesforce. Knowledge of credit control, VAT, tax compliance, and customer relationship management would be beneficial.
