The client is recruiting for an ACA with good financial services experience, to fill a senior role in the expanding client accounting team.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful ACA will be a member of the accounting team and part of a busy, client facing, professionally qualified team.
Their main responsibilities will include:
Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of capital markets and aircraft leasing SPVs in line with transactional and statutory deadlines. Beginning to end responsibility for leading the preparation of financial statements under IFRS or local GAAP, including active involvement in both audit preparation and delivery;
Lead the on boarding of new clients from an accounting perspective by reviewing deal transaction documents, designing the general ledger, assessing the applicable accounting treatment, booking the initial accounting entries and drafting the initial financial statements;
Train and manage less experienced members of the team;
Lead the interaction with auditors and the client to ensure successful completion of the financial statements;
Manage the completion of quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of aircraft leasing SPVs;
Liaising with the tax advisors and others in relation to VAT and corporation tax compliance. Completion of VAT and CT returns and preparation of iXBRL tagged financial statements;
Preparation and filing of quarterly regulatory returns to Central Bank of Ireland;
Completion of FATCA, EMIR and CRS returns; and
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, while actively contributing to process improvements within the accounting team and to a positive office environment.
Skills and Competencies:
Qualified ACA accountant, with a minimum of 1 year post qualification financial services experience in a relevant auditing/accounting role within a Top 10 accounting firm or corporate services company;
Ability to review complicated SPV transactions from an accounting perspective and lead the on boarding and delivery of all related accounting requirements;
Strong technical accounting knowledge;
Experience in managing audit trainees/newly qualified accountants;
Experience at either performing an audit or preparing for and answering audit queries;
Experience in a financial reporting role would be an advantage, though not essential;
Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications with advanced Excel skills is essential;
The candidate should have a desire to work in a fast paced, client facing environment where delivery of a high calibre professional service, to both clients and other counterparties, is of key importance; and
The candidate should be able to think on their feet, show attention to detail and resourcefulness, and have strong communication and organisational skills. An enthusiastic attitude is essential.
