Accounts & Audit - Practice - Dublin - Full Time or Part Time

Our client is a small compliance practice with a focus on offering small to medium sized domestic and international clients with accounting, compliance tax and auditing services.

Audit and audit exempt compliance work is the firm’s core business. Audit work comprises between 45% and 50% of our client work. This is provided to small and medium sized clients.

Job Purpose:

This is a general practice role. The suitable candidate is not required to be proficient in all aspects of the role. Training will be provided to suitable candidates to enable their skill set to meet the role requirements.

The Job Requirements:

To support the finance and audit team by preparing statutory financial statements. To prepare and manage fortnightly and monthly payrolls. To prepare and compile management accounts. To assist clients’ tax and company secretarial compliance obligations in relation to VAT, payroll, corporation tax and CRO filings. To assist in the compilation and completion of audit files in compliance with IASAs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Statement Preparation

o Prepare Irish company financial statements from client-provided trial balances in accordance with FRS 102 and Companies Act requirements.

o Use Bright Accounts production in the preparation and compilation of FRS102 and Companies Act financial statements.

2. Payroll and VAT returns

o To work with clients in the preparation and compilation of their payrolls

o To manage the preparation and submission of monthly payroll submissions to Revenue.

o To liaise with clients in the preparation and filing of their VAT returns on a bi-monthly and annual basis.

3. Management Accounts

o Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts from prime records (bank statements, invoices, receipts, etc.).

o Provide accounting services including nominal ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations including bank and control account reconciliations.

o Provide variance analysis and commentary where required.

o Use of accounting software such as Xero and Quickbooks in the preparation of management accounts.

4. Audit Support

o Assist the audit partner and manager in the preparation and completion of audit files.
Perform audit testing and documentation under supervision.

o Assist in compiling audit files to final review and closure stages.

5. Tax Compliance

o Prepare basic corporation tax computations and returns (Form CT1).

o Prepare and file VAT returns (Form VAT3) and payroll returns (including PAYE Modernisation submissions via ROS).

6. Company Secretarial

o Assist in preparing the annual B1 returns for companies filing with the Companies Registration Office.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· ACA or equivalent.

· Knowledge of Irish GAAP (FRS 102) and Irish tax compliance.

· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Bright Accounts Production, Xero, Quickbooks and Bright Payroll or similar payroll software).

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational and time management skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience:

· 2–3 years’ experience in a practice environment.

· Experience in preparing financial statements and management accounts.

· Exposure to audit processes and tax return preparation.

Working Conditions:

· Full time 5 day role or part time 3 day role – Depending on candidate.

· Hybrid model is available with a requirement for a minimum of two days in the office per week.

· May require occasional travel to client sites.

· Standard working hours with flexibility during peak periods (e.g., audit season or tax deadlines).

Reporting Line:

· Reports to: Audit Partner and Manager

· Liaises with: Clients
