Board role with charity Supporting Communities which formerly known as SCNI and has evolved from a single Ballymena based project into a provence wide charity that champions tenant and community participation by developing groups, suppotung active citizenship and building cohesive communities.
As a member you will bring valuable leadership skills and strong personal motivation and committment to the organisation. As a volunteer, you will champion our mission, participate enthusiastically and add to the discussions and establish constructive working relationships with the board, the CEO and other stakeholders.
Your competencies should include:
Strong communication skills with the ability to contribute to robust conversations on key issues and promote effective relationships with board members
Strong teamwork and interperonsal skills with an ability to work well with others, including the CEO, Staff and contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation
Organisational, people management and change management skills
Objectivity, strong analytical and questioning skills
Excellent leadership skills
Financial acumen with the ability to understand and analyse financial information such as charity accounts
Legal- someone with a legal background would be a welcome addition to the team

The board meets 4 times a year and attendance at sub-committees is also expected so the overall committment is on average 11 days per annum
Board term is 3 years up to a maximum of 9 years
