Programme schedule and assessment


The programme began in October 2017 by classroom and distance learning. The next programme will be in spring 2018 and dates will be announced here shortly.

Programme schedule

Module one: Wednesday 14 March 2018 9am - 4pm
Module two: Wednesday 11 April 2018 9am - 4pm
Module three: Wednesday 2 May 2018 9am - 4pm
Module four: Wednesday 30 May 2018 9am - 6pm

Programme delivery

For classroom learning, sessions will take place in Chartered Accountants House, 47-49 Pearse Street, Dublin 2. There will be some extra study required outside of class time.

For distance learning, you will receive access to pre-recorded tutorial videos and online access to Moodle and all required learning materials. 

During the programme, you will complete a number of pieces of assessment including learning logs after each module in which you will be asked to show how your thought process has developed and how your approach will change as a result of what you have learned. Learning logs are marked on a pass/fail basis. 

Final assessment

The final assessment will involve an online exam where you will asked to demonstrate your competence and understanding of the area.

Breakdown of marks

  • 20% over four learning logs
  • 80% final online exam 

Participants must achieve 50% or above in each element to be eligible for the award. The overall pass mark is set at 50% with distinction achieved at 70%. Chartered Accountants Ireland members will be awarded their Certificate by Chartered Accountants Ireland under the ‘1966 ICAI Charter Amendment Act’. Other Professionals will be awarded their Certificate by our training subsidiary Chartered Accountants Ireland Executive Education DAC.
