Born in Markievicz House right next door to the Institute’s building on Pearse Street, Johnny O’Connell trained as a Chartered Accountant in PricewaterhouseCoopers. Following qualification he went on to work in TV3 as an accountant before joining Google’s finance team managing the reporting and compliance for the Irish entity. He then joined Facebook International as one of the first finance hires with responsibility for the management of reporting, finance operations and compliance for 40+ entities. He also built the finance team and supported the International expansion by helping to open 30+ new international entities in EMEA, APAC and LATAM playing a very significant role in the transitioning of a small (ish) private company to one of most high profile about public companies on the planet. Currently head of international finance with AdRoll, Johnny is leveraging off previous experience to help support the growth of the business, build good financial controls, robust reporting system’s and keep the organisation compliant.
