Chairperson of Chartered Accountants Ireland (the 'Institute') Quality Assurance Committee
The Institute is inviting applications from suitably qualified applicants for the role of Chairperson of the Quality Assurance Committee.
The Institute is Ireland’s largest professional body, with over 39,000 members in over 100 countries and 2,192 regulated firms. It was established by Royal Charter in 1888 and its activities and those of its members are governed by its Bye-Laws and by Rules relating to professional and ethical conduct.
The Institute plays an important role in promoting confidence in the accountancy profession, a key part of which is achieved by ensuring members and member firms maintain the highest possible standard of professional services. As part of this role, the Institute established the Quality Assurance Committee to oversee compliance with the Standards of Professional Competence through a system of returns and inspections and taking regulatory action when necessary.

Compliance Committee member recruitment
Chartered Accountants Ireland (‘the Institute’) is recognised under various statutes in Ireland and the UK as having specific supervisory and regulatory obligations in respect of its membership, particularly those in public practice. The Professional Standards Department of the Institute is responsible for the exercise of its regulatory functions through a regime that includes regulatory and disciplinary committees and bodies comprising accountants and non-accountants.
The Quality Assurance Committee and Quality Assurance Review Committee are seeking to recruit accountants with expertise in audit. Expertise in investment business is also desirable.
