Course Overview

The following issues will be addressed by our panel of leading accountants and tax experts during this session:

  • Institute Members in Practice (MIP) Committee Chairperson and Council member Maeve Hunt discusses with us the role of the MIP Committee in representing the interests of the small and medium sized practitioner, as well as joining with our other panellists to look ahead to the likely key challenges and opportunities this year for those in practice.
  • Our Professional Accounting team will provide an overview of the key changes coming to FRS 102 and 105 as a result of the recent periodic review of UK and Irish GAAP undertaken by the Financial Reporting Council.
  • 2022 has witnessed many key changes in the area of sustainability that will impact the work of accountants in future years (e.g., the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive - CSRD). Get an overview from our panel on how these changes are likely to impact you.
  • Recent Tax updates from both jurisdictions on this island.
  • The Institute's ongoing interactions with key Regulators (such as Revenue , HMRC and the CRO) on behalf of our members.
  • A brief overview of some of the latest Compliance and Technical issues from recent weeks as included in the February edition of Practice Matters.
