Course Overview
The following issues will be addressed by our panel of leading accountants and tax experts during this session:
- Institute Members in Practice (MIP) Committee Chairperson and Council member Maeve Hunt discusses with us the role of the MIP Committee in representing the interests of the small and medium sized practitioner, as well as joining with our other panellists to look ahead to the likely key challenges and opportunities this year for those in practice.
- Our Professional Accounting team will provide an overview of the key changes coming to FRS 102 and 105 as a result of the recent periodic review of UK and Irish GAAP undertaken by the Financial Reporting Council.
- 2022 has witnessed many key changes in the area of sustainability that will impact the work of accountants in future years (e.g., the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive - CSRD). Get an overview from our panel on how these changes are likely to impact you.

Speaker Bio's
Conal Kennedy FCA - Conal is Head of Practice Consulting in Chartered Accountants Ireland. He and his team provide advice and support to practices throughout Ireland, and publish a range of practice toolkits covering audit, accounting and compliance. Over a 16 year period in Practice Consulting, Conal has coached and advised many practices through major change events such as mergers, acquisitions and retirements. He has also advised on practice development and marketing.
Jeremy Twomey FCA - Jeremy in his role as Practice Consulting Manager works to support our member practitioners across our service areas, with a particular focus on compliance support, training and our associated advisory services. Jeremy is a Fellow of the Institute, having trained with Ernst & Young; he has held senior management positions across both financial and professional services, as well as the public sector.
