This course will be delivered via Zoom on  Tuesday 10 June 2025 from 10am to 11am. The link to acess this course will be emailed to participants the day before the course is due to take place.

Who should attend 

The course is targeted at professional taking on insolvency appointments and acting as Liquidator.

Course overview

The webinar will highlight key requirements, best practice and procedures covering:

  • Initial appointment.
  • Agreeing the basis of remuneration and passing resolutions approving the Liquidator’s remuneration.
  • Information to be provided to committees of inspection and creditors.
  • Annual and final meetings of creditors.
  • Statutory CRO filing.

Key learning outcomes

By the end of this course, participants wil be able to:

  • Understand best practice and compliance on Creditors Voluntary Liquidations.
  • Understanding of statutory filing obligations in a liquidation.
  • Convene a meeting at the commencement of the liquidation and final meetings.
  • Prepare relevant paperwork depending on whether a Committee of Inspection was appointed or not.

Speaker Bio

Derek Wilson B.Admin. CA
Derek qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Scotland. As a UK licenced insolvency practitioner, he specialised in insolvency and restructuring, having had his own firm and several senior positions within medium sized insolvency practices, before working within ICAS professional standards department.

Until his early retirement last year, since 2019 he had been assisting Chartered Accountants Ireland with their insolvency monitoring programmes in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
He is a currently a member of the ICAS Authorisation Committee and CAI Professional Conduct Committee.

Sarah-Jane O’Keeffe, FCCA
Sarah-Jane is a director at Azets and the Members’ Voluntary Liquidation lead within the Advisory & Restructuring Department. Sarah-Jane has over 15 years’ experience in Corporate and Legal matters.

Sarah-Jane is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Accounting Technicians Ireland, ISIP and holds a B.A. in Business with Law from DCU. She is Co-Chair of IWIRC Ireland and sits on the CCAB-I Committee. She is also a licensed insolvency practitioner and appointment holder having been appointed the first female Examiner in Ireland by the Circuit Court, and a Liquidator on a voluntary and involuntary basis to a number of companies. Sarah-Jane was also a contributor to the Chartered Accountants Ireland’s 2021 publication ‘A Practical Guide to Examinership’.
