Speaker bio
Robert Kirk is Professor of Financial
Reporting at Ulster University. After graduating with honours in Economics from
Queen’s University Belfast, he qualified as an Irish Chartered Accountant with
Price Waterhouse, placing first in his final exams. Robert has held senior roles
in industry and academia, including Financial Controller at ICB (Shell UK) and
Director of Business and Accounting Training in Dublin. He has published 18
books and numerous articles on accounting standards, with several works adopted
as core textbooks by UK professional bodies. Robert is a leading authority on
the development of accounting standards in the UK and has contributed extensively to both academic and professional education.
Phyllis Willoughby is Learning and Development Accountant in
Chartered Accountants Ireland. Prior to this Phyllis worked with CPA Ireland,
holding roles in learning and development and as a quality assurance executive,
conduting reviews of firms throughout Ireland.
Sean McLoughney is the founder and specialist learning and
development professional behind LearningCurve, a consultancy established in 2001
that helps organizations and individuals improve performance through time
management, leadership, and talent support skills. He is the author of several
books, including "Slave to the Clock, Master of Time" and "Slave to a Job,
Master of your Career", and serves as a senior lecturer for Accountancy Ireland
and other bodies.
Paul Murphy is a taxation consultant and management
accountant for Martin J. Kelly & Co. He is a corporation tax lecturer for
the Irish Taxation Institute and is an Associate of both the Irish Taxation
Institute and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
