This workshop is ideal for anyone who leads, develops,
or supports colleagues and wants to strengthen their coaching and training capability.
Course overview
This session will equip managers with the skills and knowledge to deliver
training courses which are aimed at upskilling colleagues. It will cover an
introduction to training, the difference between training and coaching, how
people learn and how to design and write a training session. It will also cover
delegation which is a key coaching opportunity.
Some key topics that are explored during this session include:
- How to use a step-by-step approach to designing and
writing a training session.
- Create a lesson plan for every training course.
Structure each session so that it focuses on the key learning outcomes.
- Discuss David Kolb learning cycle and review the
different learning styles and how this impacts the delivery of a
training/coaching session.
- Understand why coaching has become a key tool for
managers in the workplace and how it helps to develop and retain talented
people while focusing on achieving business targets. View coaching as part of
the role of a result focused manager.
- Understand the difference between coaching and
training.
- Identify the coaching opportunities that are
available during your daily activities.
- Develop a Skill Mastery Plan for everyone on your
team by using the 5-step approach. Identify the key benefits of these plans
for both you and yourteam.
- Define the 6 steps in delegation and then evaluate
your current delegation process.
- Identify areas for improvement and understand the benefits of effective
delegation.
