The event will mark the launch of Important Work: A History of Irish Chartered & Certified Public Accountants, a new publication by Brenda Clerkin, Bríd Murphy, and Martin Quinn. The book traces the development of the profession from the late nineteenth century to the present day, highlighting its enduring impact on economic life, public trust, and social progress across the island of Ireland.
This evening also marks the centenary of the founding of CPA Ireland, recognising 100 years of contribution, leadership, and service to the profession.
We are delighted that the keynote address will be delivered by Professor Stephen Kinsella, Professor of Economics at the University of Limerick and a leading commentator on the Irish economy. Prof Kinsella will reflect on the role and future of the accountancy profession in a rapidly changing economic, geopolitical, and technological landscape.
The evening will offer members an opportunity to reflect on our shared professional heritage while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities shaping the profession’s future.
