Course overview
Some key topics that are explored during this session include:
- What does teamwork actually mean in the context of your team. How does it
impact performance. How does it make your job easier. Use this simple exercise
to explore this definition with your team.
- Define what is the purpose of your team, talented people are engaged by
something that is bigger than their job. Write a vision statement for your
team that inspires a great team performance.
- Discuss Tuckman stages of team development and use this framework to move
your team through to the performing stage. Identify the stage that you team is
currently at and the action you can take to move forward.
- Analyse the strengths and weaknesses of your team as part of your
succession plan.
- Define the top 5 skills required to work as a team. Establish tangible
evidence that you have a teamwork ethos within your team.

Everyone who attends the workshop will receive their own ‘Personal Action
Journal’. This journal contains tips and exercises that are explored during the
workshop and will help you get your action plan started. You can also use your
journal to document all your ideas and actions that supports your learning.
