On 1 April 2022 the new Plastic Packaging Tax (“PPT”) comes into force at a rate of £200 per tonne. This will apply to certain manufacturers and importers of plastic packaging components which contain less than 30 percent recycled plastic.
HMRC is running a further round of webinars to support the introduction of this tax which will cover an introduction to PPT, and the administrative and technical aspects of the tax.
