Course overview
This session will equip people with the skills and
knowledge to improve your and your team’s business development skills. It will
cover identifying new business development opportunities while also discussing
what questions to ask to determine your clients’ additional needs. There will
also be an emphasis on building your networking skills. You will learn how to
follow a structured approach to growing your business network.
Some key topics that are explored during this session include:
- Define what is business development and what it means
to your team. Outline why it is important to you and the business.
- Understand who is responsible for business
development and establish the role everyone on your team can play in
identifying opportunities. Set SMARTER business development goals for everyone
on your team.
- Apply the three-pillar model to clarify what you
offer and what makes you unique. Use the SWOC model to then analyses each
pillar.
- Align the ladder of loyalty model to growing your
business successfully in 3 easy steps.
- Define what is networking and build a structured
approach to networking.
- Use these 5 ways to improve your networking skills and make it easy for
everyone on your team to network.

Everyone who attends the workshop will receive their own ‘Personal Action
Journal’. This journal contains tips and exercises that are explored during the
workshop and will help you get your action plan started. You can also use your
journal to document all your ideas and actions that supports your learning.
