Gearóid O'Sullivan
Gearóid is the Institute's Tax Leader
and is responsible for driving tax policy within the Institute
David Shanahan, Department of Finance
David Shanahan is an Assistant Principal in the Department
of Finance’s International Tax Policy Unit. David is a Chartered Tax Advisor and
worked in practice for five years before joining the Department in 2021.Since
then, he has worked on a variety of international tax files and represented
Ireland at key multilateral organisations, with a particular focus on the OECD
and the negotiation of the ‘two-pillared solution’.David holds a BA in
Economics, Politics & Law from DCU and an MSC in International Law and
Business from UCD.
Caitriona Coady, Goodbody
Catriona Coady is Head of Tax
within Wealth Management in Goodbody and is responsible for assisting clients in
developing and implementing their strategic financial planning, tax and
investment goals. She is adept in advising on investment and tax solutions
covering succession and retirement planning. Prior to working for Goodbody, she
spent over 20 years working with big 4 firms providing tax advice to
international and domestic clients. Catriona is a CTA, TEP, CFP and a STEP
Ireland Committee member. She is a regular contributor to media on tax and
financial planning related matters.
Gearalt O’Neill, Circulo
Ciaran Ramsey, Senior Counsel, Member of the Inner Bar
Ciaran has specialised for 30 years in the area of tax litigation and advice.
He trained and worked with Arthur Andersen and KPMG, Chartered Accountants, for
7 years and subsequently worked with McCann FitzGerald, Solicitors, for 4 years,
including as a tax partner. Since then, Ciaran has been practising at the Bar
for over 21 years, including the last 13 years as a Senior Counsel. Ciaran was
the inaugural Chair of the Tax Bar Association from 2022-2024.
Patrick Duggan, UK Transactions and Advisory Tax Director at EY Northern IrelandPatrick Duggan is a fellow member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and sits as a member of the Northern Ireland Tax Committee for CAI. Patrick is also a fellow member of the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation. Currently, Patrick serves as a UK Transactions and Advisory Tax Director at EY Northern Ireland, bringing over 26 years of experience advising businesses and their owners on a wide variety of UK and international tax matters. Patrick's specialist areas include business and shareholder tax advisory services, international tax advisory, buy and sell side transactional and tax structuring services, as well as group restructuring and rationalisation projects.
