The Author
Ciaran Connolly was Professor of Accounting at Queen’s
University Belfast, retiring in July 2025. A fellow of Chartered Accountants
Ireland, he holds a DPhil from the University of Ulster and an MBA from Queen’s
University Belfast. Ciaran's teaching interests are in the areas of financial
accounting and not-for-profit accounting. His main area of research is in
the field of public services, particulalrly the financial and performance
measurement aspects of the charity and public sectors. He has published
extensively on these subjects.
