Our client is an international manufacturing entity in the medical sector seeking a Financial Controller with oversight of 2 plants / sites.
Ideally you will speak French.
Ideally you will have manufacturing sector experience.
Strong People-Skills and people management are also essential.
Reporting to the CFO, the position will contribute to the running of the company and financial stability during a significant growth phase.
Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
• Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a productive and efficient team.
• Lead the month end close process, to provide accurate financial statements and information to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor budgets, create financial forecasts, and analyze variances to help guide financial strategy and decision-making.
• Oversee cash flows, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet obligations.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure the organization accurately reports financial information and complies with all relevant tax laws and financial regulations.
• Audit: Coordinate with external auditors, providing them with the necessary information and documentation to facilitate successful audits.
• Oversee weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reporting against budget and operational goals for all business units.
• Develop a cost reduction roadmap to achieve cost targets.
• Participate in and lead certain aspects of operations, system upgrades and efficiency improvements initiatives.
• Responsible for preparation of accurate product/project margin reports for management.
• Enterprise Ireland Grant applications
• R&D Tax credit applications
Organisational Leadership
• Work with the management teams at the Waterford and Swiss sites to ensure world class site performance.
• Interact regularly with the management team to ensure that the sites operational priorities are aligned with the strategic objectives set by the senior leadership team.
• Maintain strong working relationships with other critical departments to resolve workflow issues constructively and in a manner resulting in the best outcomes for our customers, employees and stakeholders.
Key competencies
• Qualified accountant with minimum five years PQE working in industry.
• Fluent English and French
• Strong people management skills
• Strong background and experience in driving P&L, budgeting and key organisational metrics in a manufacturing organization with multi-plant experience
• Proven business results of improving operational performance.
• Self-starter demonstrates initiative and urgency with little supervision.
• Highly motivated, results and data driven, persuasive with details and facts.
• Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and orally; able to communicate and influence effectively across all levels of the organization. Decisive and possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation and detail-oriented perspective.
• A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Superior organisation skills
• Strong IT skills and relevant SAP, Microsoft's Dynamics 365 Business Central or other ERP system’s experience would be a distinct advantage.
