Programme schedule and assessment


The programme begins in September 2019 by classroom and distance learning.

Programme schedule

The classroom version of this programme runs for full days (9am-5pm) usually on Wednesdays approximately once per month. Dates for September 2019 will follow shortly.
The distance learning schedule will have content released according to the same schedule as the classroom version.

Programme delivery

For classroom learning, sessions will take place in Chartered Accountants House, 47-49 Pearse Street, Dublin 2. There will be some extra study required outside of class time.

For distance learning, you will receive access to recorded tutorial videos and online access to Moodle and all required learning materials. 

During the programme, you will complete a number of pieces of assessment including learning logs in which you will be asked to show how your thought process has developed and how your approach will change as a result of what you have learned. Learning logs are marked on a pass/fail basis. 


Assessment will include learning logs throughout the programme, an assignment to complete at home and a final presentation.

Breakdown of marks

  • 10% over three learning logs
  • 60% assignment
  • 30% presentation. The presentations will be on 14 January 2019.

Participants must achieve 50% or above in each element to be eligible for the award. The overall pass mark is set at 50% with distinction achieved at 70%. Chartered Accountants Ireland members will be awarded their Certificate by Chartered Accountants Ireland under the ‘1966 ICAI Charter Amendment Act’. Other Professionals will be awarded their Certificate by our training subsidiary Chartered Accountants Ireland Executive Education DAC.
