Chartered Accountants Student Society of Ireland (CASSI)
What we do
The Chartered Accountants Student Society of Ireland (CASSI) is here to support you on your journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant. All of us might need some help from time to time, whether it’s information, a listening ear, access to networks and more. CASSI liaises with the Institute and CA Support to advocate for students. We have an ongoing emphasis on work-life balance, mental health and all aspects of wellbeing: physical, emotional and mental.
CASSI arrange events with a range of topics and themes. Check our events page for our upcoming and past events and link up with us on our social media platforms below for the latest updates. We would love to hear from you so email us at cassinetwork@gmail.com.
A note about the current CASSI Chair
Our current Chair is Kaillum Burns. Kaillum was elected to the role of Chair at the CASSI AGM in February 2026 and is currently preparing for CAP 2 examinations while working with Gilroy Gannon in Sligo. Having previously served as CASSI Treasurer in 2025, Kaillum brings valuable experience in financial oversight, event coordination, and supporting student initiatives nationwide.
With a strong understanding of the student journey, Kaillum is passionate about fostering an inclusive and engaging network across all Student Societies. Building on prior involvement, there is a continued focus on strengthening connections between students and the Institute, while promoting a balanced calendar of both professional and social events. Throughout the term, Kaillum is committed to enhancing student engagement, supporting wellbeing initiatives, and ensuring that the student voice remains central to all activities. By encouraging collaboration across regions and maintaining open communication, Kaillum aims to create a positive and rewarding experience for all members of the CASSI community.
Three pillars
In 2023, we elected three pillars on which we would base our actions and activities off for the coming years:
- Diversity and Inclusion: CASSI would like all members to feel represented and will ensure that the contributions and perspectives of different groups are valued and celebrated. CASSI have placed a heightened emphasis on wellbeing and wellness events, Jigsaw charity partnership and integration with Thrive, the Institute's wellbeing hub.
- One CASSI: this pillar focuses on ensuring all students, regardless of location or entry method, have a chance to engage in CASSI events and meet fellow members. CASSI have introduced several collaborative regional society events with diversified student attendance.
- Future of work and study: CASSI works with Barden, our sponsor, to host webinars, one-to-one sessions and in-person events aimed at helping students plot out the next phase of their career and equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to take their next steps after their training contract. CASSI will support our students coming out of contract with their transition to ACA professionals.
