Speaker Bios
Karen Morrall
Karen is the CEO of Lockdown Cyber Security and has been
a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW for nearly 25 years. She trained and
qualified within the EY, and was based within their external audit dept for over
six years. She has worked in numerous global Enterprise level and SME businesses
and is an experienced Finance Director & CFO.
Karen has worked in both
Big Data and Cyber Security, she loves technological innovation but recognises
the additional risks it brings, so she co-founded Lockdown in 2020. Lockdown
sees Cyber Security through the eyes of a finance professional, a different lens
to the norm. Her aim is to educate organisations, business leaders, Accountants
and finance professionals on “Cyber Risk” so they can make informed cyber
decisions. With specific focus on "People risk", as most Cyber incidents result
from human actions, that with the right training many could be avoided.
Karen believes building a strong security aware culture is a key defence mechanism in the fight against cyber-crime and that Cyber Security training needs to be layered throughout an organisation, to enhance cyber posture, build a strong human firewall and enhance cyber resilience.
William Taaffee
William is the COO of Lockdown Cyber Security, who sees
Cyber Security through the eyes of a finance professional, delivering world
class training products and technical solutions. William has dedicated himself
towards his passion of Cyber Security, a topic of interest since his early
teens. An accomplished presenter, William has spoken on behalf of major British
retail banks, the British Dental Association, BMA, BMF and is a regular
contributor around Cyber Fraud within the UK anti-fraud sector, delivering
masterclass training sessions to industry practitioners.
In addition, William has been published and featured in industry magazines, educating on the topic of Digital Risk. A well-received trainer, William has worked with a variety of SME and Enterprise level organisations delivering bespoke training around Cyber Security and data protection.
