& District Lions Club with their Business Breakfast Briefing and Budget 2026
event this year.
This year's event features Minister Jack ChambersTD, Minster for Public Expenditure,
Infrastructure, Public Service Reform & Digitalisation along with
leading economist Jim Power
as keynote speaker.
The charity fundraiser event is supporting the paediatric ward of the
emergency department at Cork University Hospital, supporting both ED and
childhood cancer in collaboration with CUH Charity.

Minister Jack Chambers TD – Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public
Service Reform & Digitalisation
A TD for Dublin West, Jack Chambers has
served as Minister for Finance, Government Chief Whip, and Minister of State at
the Departments of Transport and Environment, Climate and Communications.
Elected to Dáil Éireann in 2016 and re-elected in 2020, he is a Medical Doctor
(RCSI) and holds an honours degree in Law & Political Science from Trinity
College Dublin. He has also served as Fianna Fáil spokesperson for Defence,
Communications, Climate Action & Environment, and the National Drugs
Strategy. Born in Galway and raised in Dublin West, he has long been active in
local community and sports organisations.
Jim Power – Economist, Author
& Broadcaster
Jim Power holds a BA in Economics & Politics and a Master of
Economic Science from University College Dublin. He has served as Treasury
Economist at AIB Group, Chief Economist at Bank of Ireland Group Treasury and
Friends First Group, and has advised parliamentary committees including the UK
House of Lords on economic affairs. Jim lectures on the Full Time MBA at UCD
Smurfit Graduate School of Business, writes regular columns for The Irish
Examiner, and is a frequent contributor to radio, TV, and podcasts including The
Stand, Win Happy, and The Other Hand. A native of Waterford, he has held
leadership roles in Agri-Aware, Love Irish Food, and Three Rock Capital
Management, and is author of Picking Up the Pieces and co-author of Marketing
Multiplied.
