How do I apply for the Audit Qualification?
Newly admitted members to the Institute
Members admitted from 1 January 2021 will be invited to apply for the Audit Qualification provided they have met the relevant requirements, by completing a newly admitted member Audit Qualification application form. Shortly after being admitted to membership, the Institute will write to members who appear to have met the eligibility criteria of having sat and passed the audit elective, and where at least the required number of weeks audit experience has been locked in their CA Diaries, enclosing this AQ application form. A non-refundable fee of €174/£118 is applicable.
The application process will be outlined in the application correspondence sent.
Video 1 of the Institute’s three-part video series on the Audit Qualification provides further information on the application process and is available on the CA Diary page.
If you are a newly admitted member and have not received the correspondence mentioned above, but feel that you have met the relevant requirements, please contact Rachael Shannon at auditqualification@charteredaccountants.ie for further information.
Other members of the Institute
To apply for the audit qualification, members admitted after 1 January 1990, via the standard training and education route, will need to complete the AQ application form which is available here.
A non-refundable fee of €174/£118 is applicable.
Fully completed application forms and all supporting documentation should be submitted in PDF format to: auditqualification@charteredaccountants.ie
For members admitted before 1 January 1990 who wish to receive confirmation that they have met the Educational Requirements for the Audit Qualification, please email auditqualification@charteredaccountants.ie. There is a charge of €40 for administration.
Please note that a member who has obtained Institute membership under reciprocal membership arrangements (a reciprocal member) can only be awarded the AQ in limited circumstances.
