Irish company based in South Dublin with 70+ employees seeking a full time Financial Accountant to join the Finance team.
Our client is a leading distributor of capital equipment in Ireland. It is a distributor for one of the strongest brands in the Irish market. We have a significant Sales, Parts and Service operation in the Construction, and Industrial and Compact sectors with a turnover in excess of €50 million.
The successful incumbent will work closely with, and report to, the Financial Controller.
Candidates should be qualified accountants with 1-3 years post qualification commercial and accounts work experience.
Requirements
Qualified ACA
1-3 years post qualification commercial and accounts experience
Proficient in MS Excel and accounting packages
Payroll experience (Sage an advantage)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Mature, reliable & hard-working
Pro-active, attention to detail & good organisational skills
Key Responsibilities
Assistance with monthly management accounts (journals & balance sheet reconciliations)
Month end close procedures
Responsible for Fixed Asset Register Maintenance
Responsible for Monthly Bank reconciliations GBP and Euro
Responsible for Monthly VAT reconciliations & preparation and submission of bi-monthly/annual returns through ROS
Preparation/submission of monthly Vies & Intrastat returns
Preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly and annual CSO surveys
Overseeing Debtors & liaising with Credit controller
Provide annual leave cover for credit control, and accounts payable.
Supplier payments – review the approval and nominal coding of supplier invoices
Check all expense claim forms & approve staff mileage calculations and submit ERR through ROS
Weekly check of payroll before bank transfer approved, and processing weekly wages on Sage and submitting to Revenue as part of annual leave cover provided.
Notifying Insurers of changes to company vehicle fleet and maintaining the company vehicle register
6 monthly BIK review for Sales Reps company cars
Assistance with annual audit file preparation
Assistance with annual Insurance renewal declarations
