Currently seeking a Financial Controller to lead a small team and work closely with the General Manager.
Keen on transformation and change experience particularly in particular to systems !
Advantage if you have hospitality and food experience?
Budgets / forecasting and strategic financial leadership are key.
You will need strengths on the day to day and week to week monthly accounting also.
The successful candidate will be the driver of key financial decisions while leading a programme of process and technology improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monthly reporting of management accounts. Set and agree targets for key functions. Manage and monitor performance.
• Present financial results and insights at the Finance and Operations Committee and as required at Board meetings.
• Oversee annual budget preparation, forecasting, and cashflow management.
• Manage and control Capital expenditure budgets.
• Efficient and effective cost control and management of all key supplier pricing and contracts.
• Ensure accurate financial controls, compliance, and reporting
• Drive the development of operating data dashboards and key performance metrics across all aspects of activity .
• Manage the Annual statutory audit and preparation of annual report.
• Lead the improvement and modernisation of the systems and technology.
• Implement solutions that enhance the member experience on all aspects of bookings, payments, interfaces , and communication.
• Evaluate current systems and introduce new tools to drive operational efficiency.
• Build dashboards and visual reporting to support data-driven decision making.
• Working with key business partners, serve as the internal “technology champion,” ensuring adoption and continuous improvement.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager.
• Provide insight, challenge, and operational leadership to improve efficiency across the org.
• Influence change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work closely with department managers to optimise processes and member services.
• Ability to delve into the detail as required.
• Manage and develop the Finance team as required.
• Ensure a collaborative, high-performance culture in the office.
• Lead the restructuring and modernisation of workflows as required.
ACA / FCA
o Strong finance background with demonstrable operational and systems experience.
o Proven success improving processes, technology, or workflows in a service-based environment.
o Experience presenting to senior stakeholders or boards.
o Possess a strong interest in sports and working in a strong member-focussed organisation.
o IT-savvy with a natural interest in systems and technology.
o Strong “impact and influence” – able to challenge, advise, and drive change.
o Excellent interpersonal skills and strong chemistry with the General Manager are essential.
o Hands-on, proactive, and operationally engaged.
• Partner closely with the General Manager and influence strategy.
• Lead a transformative period of system, process and operational improvement.
• Modernise the member experience through technology and process enhancement.
• Play a pivotal role in implementing the five-year strategic plan.
