Our client is an SME in the construction maintenance sector finalising a sale of the business and needing a CFO for the duration of 2026.
As part of this project, the CFO will be responsible for optimising financial performance and reporting, developing, and maintaining comprehensive financial models, conducting due diligence activities, and interacting with potential buyers and their advisers.
In addition to the above as CFO he/she will play a vital role in shaping and executing our financial strategy as we aim to achieve a target EBITDA of €3 million+ with a current annual turnover in the region of €37 million. Subject to overcoming certain challenges the company will wish to continue its growth strategy and his/her leadership in financial planning, analysis and operations will be critical to our success. In tandem with this their key responsibilities will include:
• Strategic Financial Planning: Developing and implementing long-term financial plans to support our growth objectives.
• Financial Reporting: Overseeing the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. You will ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Leading the annual budgeting process and developing rolling forecasts, with a specific focus on achieving our EBITDA target. You will monitor performance against budget and identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Cash Flow Management: Optimizing working capital management, implementing robust cash flow forecasting processes such as maximising cash collection through our debtors and controlling stock thus ensuring adequate liquidity to support operations.
• Cost Control & Efficiency: Implementing cost control measures and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, directly contributing to EBITDA improvement.
• IT Systems: Working with our IT personnel you will evaluate and oversee the continuous implementation and maintenance of our ERP system to enhance its financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting capabilities.
• Team Leadership & Development: Managing and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
