Title Finance Manager
Reporting to Head of Finance
Finance Manager is responsible for providing timely, relevant and accurate financial information to internal and external stakeholders. As the Finance Manager you will work closely with the Head of Finance and other members within the Finance department.
Note: This role will involve the occasional need to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends. In addition, some travel across the island of Ireland and occasionally abroad may be required.
1. Management of the General Ledger, departmental funding, bank accounts, bank mandates, approval of payments and cashflows of Tourism Ireland.
2. Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly
3. Oversight of the payroll function of all offices worldwide ensuring that the process is carried out effectively, correctly and on time.
4. Preparation of e-filling of bi-monthly VAT returns, management of the 8th directive VAT refunds and recoveries.
5. Management of the e-year and external audit, liaising with our external auditors and providing financial information.
6. Ensure the provision of accurate and timely management accounting information including the preparation of the monthly management accounts and budget reports (budget vs spend reports), including commentary thereon. Present these to internal stakeholders including the Senior Management Team.
7. Liaise with multiple budget managers in different locations, acting as a finance business partner, providing support and guidance around complex financial information including VAT.
8. Oversee effective management of key contracted suppliers and liaise with internal and external auditors and banks.
9. Providing assistance with responses for the Freedom of Information, Parliamentary Questions and Assembly questions.
10. Providing Key Financial input our procurement/tendering process.
11. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, procedures and statutory filing requirements.
12. Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial systems, processes and procedures.
13. Supervise the day-to-day work of the team responsible for budgeting GL processing, banking and credit cards.
14. Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant accounting standards and wider
public sector policies
15. Provide direct support to the Head of Finance and ad-hoc support for other departments/divisions on all financial matters.
The successful candidate will possess the following experience, knowledge and skills, competencies, and qualifications:
Essential
• ACA / FCA
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance/accounting position.
• Strong experience in Microsoft packages such as excel, etc.
• Understanding GDPR regulations
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, or general ledger work.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical capacity, and ability to communicate complex data clearly across varied audiences.
• Excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills plus ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
