Our client is an SME in the science and equine sectors seeking a Finance Leader to help grow this international company from 3M t/o to 10M in the years ahead.
Although a small finance team of 1 to manage currently this will grow and expand under your direction and you will work very closely with the CEO (Who is an FCA) on a weekly basis so this role is very commercial.
Group structure with Entities setup internationally.
Hybrid – 2 days in the office and 3 days out however for at least the first 6 months this would be 4 days in the office.
The overall package will include a Pension and Health contribution and annual bonus.
Ideally you will have :
1. International Experience with previous Intercompany knowledge
2. Someone who will work closely with me effectively as the no. 2 in the business
3. Commercially focused not just a figures person!
Group CFO
Position: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Employment Type: Full-time, Executive Leadership Team
You will lead Finance, IT, and HR functions, ensuring robust financial controls and people-focused HR practices. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will partner with the CEO to shape long-term strategy, manage risk, and support further rapid international expansion. You’ll drive data-led decision making, digital transformation, and foster a high-performance culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
• Develop and maintain financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closes; ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Lead treasury, cash flow management, tax planning, and audit engagements.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to guide strategic investments and cost optimisation.
Information Technology
• Define IT strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, security, and digital innovation.
• Manage infrastructure, ERP/CRM implementations, data analytics, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Partner with R&D and Operations to leverage data insights and automation for product development and supply chain efficiency.
• Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
Human Resources
• Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and benefits programmes.
• Champion leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local labour laws across all jurisdictions.
• Foster an inclusive culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent.
Ad Hoc Duties
• Lead special projects (e.g. new market entry, joint ventures, strategic partnerships).
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and board, providing clear insight and commercial leadership.
• Represent the co. in investor and banking relationships as required.

Qualifications & Experience
• Qualified accountant (ACA, FCA) with 10+ years’ progressive experience.
• Proven track record as a CFO or Finance Director in a fast-growing international SME.
• Hands-on experience leading IT and HR teams or overseeing those functions at a senior level.
• Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset, with experience in multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional environments.
