Highlights this week include our analysis of Finance Bill 2017, an extension to the ROS 2016 income tax return filing and payment date and a progress update on the UK Finance (No. 2) Bill 2017.

  2. Revenue has extended the ROS filing and payment date for 2016 income tax returns and 2017 preliminary income tax payments to midnight on 16 November 2017 from 14 November 2017.
  3. The Court of Appeal has reversed the High Court’s ruling and found in favour of Revenue’s position that the second home charge, known as the NPPR (non principal private residence) charge, is not an allowable deduction against rental income for income tax purposes.  Read more about this story on our website.
