Upcoming deadlines for taxpayers and their accountants, and indications that tax supports for remote working will be considered in Budget 2021, feature as our top Irish stories this week. In the UK, HMRC has announced the deadline for claims under the job retention scheme. While in international tax, the European Commission is seeking feedback on the VAT Roadmap.    

       Ireland

  1. Upcoming deadlines – taxpayers and their accountants may have additional workloads and deadlines to meet in relation to COVID-19 supports;
  2. Tax supports for remote working will be re-examined for Budget 2021;

    UK

  3. The deadline for claims under the job retention scheme is 30 November 2020;
  4. Payment under PAYE settlement agreements must be made by 22 October 2020; and

    International
