Directors, senior managers, managers, investors, business analysts, academics, business advisors and aspiring business leaders of all genders are welcome to attend this event.

Course overview

This webinar will focus on gender diversity, equity, and inclusion with a specific emphasis on women on boards and in senior leadership positions. The event will open with a presentation which will be then followed by a panel discussion. We expect the following key themes to be covered

  • Insights from Sandra Healy, Founder of Inclusio.io, on what many leading organisations are doing to drive diversity, equity and inclusion from a gender perspective in their organisations.
  • Evidence of the impact of gender diversity, equity and inclusion on the culture of an organisation and in driving long term success.
  • Sharing of experiences from male and female business leaders on what worked for them and their organisations in driving gender diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Discussion of the regulatory landscape for gender diversity, equity and inclusion how it is a key part of recently updated Governance Codes.
  • Gender diversity, quality and inclusion as a key component of any Sustainability/ESG framework
  • Other possible insights to discuss include; what needs to happen, outside of formal requirements, to further progress gender diversity, equity and inclusion? What are the key obstacles to women getting involved on boards and how can they be overcome? How to do more to empower more women to join boards?

Key Learning Outcomes

by the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • have a clear understanding of progress many organisations are making in driving gender diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • learn effective steps that can be taken by individuals and organisations to drive diversity, equity and inclusion
  • understand the regulatory landscape of diversity, equity and inclusion in a corporate governance context
  • appreciate the challenges and recognise the opportunities to implement measures and encourage behaviours that drive gender diversity, equity and inclusion.

Speaker Bio

Pat O'Neill, Deputy President of Chartered Accountants Ireland, Audit Partner in EY, Dublin.

Sandra Healy, Founder and CEO of Inclusio and Founding Director, DCU Centre of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion, Sandra has championed and driven Diversity and Inclusion practice in Irish Industry and is considered one of the country's leading experts. She contributes to the work of the Ibec Diversity Forum, CWIT and 30% Club Ireland. Sandra provided critical diversity expertise and sectoral knowledge for the establishment of the EU Diversity Charter Ireland in 2014.Sandra was a member of the Expert Advisory Group for the Citizens Assembly on Gender Equality in Ireland (2020). She was named in the top three of Diverse In'sTop20 Diversity Leaders to Watch in 2018; she was a 'game changer for diversity and inclusion' and won Entrepreneur of the Year Awards at the Diversity in Tech Awards in 2021.

Níall Fitzgerald FCA, Head of Governance and Ethics, Chartered Accountants Ireland - Níall leads the development of policy and matters relating to business ethics and governance across operations. He previously worked with PwC and before moving to management consulting, advising in relation to provision of professional services, policy and internal control development and corporate governance. He holds a M.Acc (NUIG), Diploma in Corporate Governance (UCD), is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Consultant.

Shauna Greely,Senior Finance Business Partner at Ulster Bank Group, Chair of the Chartered Accountants Ireland Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Non-executive board member and Vice President of Accountancy Europe, Past President of Chartered Accountants Ireland and Past President of Accounting Technicians Ireland

Darina Barrett,Partner and EMEA Head of Asset Management in KPMG, Non-executive board member of the Federation of Irish Sport. Darina is an advocate for diversity and inclusion and is a member of the steering committee of the 30% club and the steering group for the Chartered Accountants Ireland. She is a mother of 4 sporting teenagers. She enjoys open water swimming and is a committee member of Dublin Swimming club.
