Speaker Bios

Lisa Hughes is an Executive Coach and Facilitator who works with individuals and teams at all levels focussing on Leadership Development, Resilience and creating High Performing Teams. Lisa spent her career in the arena of corporate life, her background is in commercial, her degree in business, her speciality in marketing. She has run co-located, hybrid and remote teams across global multinationals, corporates and in start-ups. Lisa understands the joys and challenges of leading teams and developing people. She is a member of the EMCC and accredited by WACN (World Association of Coaching with Neuroscience

Will O’Brien – Director, Consulting  has overall responsibility for Forensics & eDiscovery operational management and delivery at PwC. His industry skills include GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner and Analyst, PRINCE2 Certified, along with an honours degree in Computer Science from University College Cork. He also successfully completed the Centre for Creative Leadership - Leading for Organisational Impact in Brussels in 2016. This is a globally recognised program which provides the understanding, experience and momentum needed to lead organisational functions. He recently led and developed a Certificate in Technology Risk and Data Incident Management on behalf of Chartered Accountants Ireland and he is a regular speaker and guest lecturer on the topic of Cyber Security and Forensic Technology at the Institute of Bankers Certificate and Diploma in Compliance.

Caroline Reidy – Managing Director, The HR Suite. runs The HR Suite who offer specialist tailored and effective human resources, employment law and business solutions to over 500 clients throughout Ireland. Caroline is a past Commissioner on the Low Pay Commission and is also an adjudicator in the Work Place Commission. Caroline has completed a Masters in Human Resources in the University of Limerick and is a trained mediator. Achieved a Diploma in Company Direction with Distinction with the Institute of Directors. She is also the author of ‘The Art of Asking the Right Questions” that provides top tips to people managers throughout the employment journey. To mark 10 years in business in 2019 Caroline launched a children’s book ‘Celebrating You’ to advocate diversity and the importance of celebrating individuality in children. Caroline is also a TEDxTralee. Caroline also contributes as a thought leader to national media, conference speaker and articles in national press.

Joe Carroll – Head of Professional Development, Chartered Accountants Ireland  has worked for Chartered Accountants Ireland over 15 years and has significant experience leading the development and delivery of all of the Institute’s diploma, certificate and one day CPD programmes to personnel from the Financial Services Sector and other sectors. Joe graduated from UCD with a BA Hons in Medieval and Modern History Diploma and subsequently continued his education completing a Diploma in Executive Coaching from Irish Management Institute, a MSc Education Leadership from Dublin City University, a Certificate in Adult Guidance and Counselling, Maynooth University and a HDip Education Studies, University College Dublin and a Certificate in Technology Risk and Data Incident Management.

Sinead Fox-Hamilton - Relationship and Professional Development Manager, Chartered Accountants Ireland is a Law graduate and Fellow Chartered Accountant who has enjoyed a diverse career spanning varied Finance, Recruitment and Consulting positions. In her current role with Chartered Accountants Ireland, she showcases the Chartered Accountancy profession, supports career and professional development journeys along with working with employers to implement relevant training and learning solutions to support talent management. Sinead was noted in Northern Ireland’s ‘Top 40 under 40’ and ‘Top 20 Inspiring Women’ listings and was also recognised for her ‘Services to Accounting and Finance’ in the Northern Ireland Women’s Awards. She is a past winner of Chartered Accountants Ireland ‘Chartered Star’ competition.

 

Cróna Clohisey – Chartered Accountants Ireland is the Public Policy Leader in Chartered Accountants Ireland and is a Chartered Accountant and Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute. Cróna has spent over 10 years working in both KPMG and Grant Thornton as well as the Revenue Commissioners. Cróna has authored and contributed to several of the Institute’s policy publications including in the areas of sustainability, pensions, foreign direct investment and Brexit.

Micaela Diver Partner, Litigation and Dispute Resolution (Belfast), A & L Goodbody Micaela Diver is a partner in A&L Goodbody's Litigation Department. Micaela specialises in Public & Regulatory law and is experienced in complex, high profile cases in the Northern Irish Commercial Court. Micaela advises clients in both the public and private sector on contentious and non-contentious public procurement law matters, including large scale outsourcing and infrastructure projects. She also advises clients on competition law matters including compliance, merger control and private damages actions. Micaela acts for clients in judicial reviews, statutory appeals, investigations (bribery and anti-corruption) and other inquiries across a variety of sectors including energy, utilities, health, transport, construction and the public sector.

Stephen Abram – Senior Associate, EU and Competition (Belfast), A & L Goodbody Stephen Abram is an associate in the firm's Litigation Department in Belfast and he specialises in Competition & Regulatory law. Stephen has a wide range of experience in advising regulated companies and regulatory authorities on the application of legislation relevant to the sectors in which they operate. Before joining the firm, he was a legal adviser at the Utility Regulator and previously trained and practiced with firms in London. Stephen's primary areas of practice are competition, procurement, judicial review, regulatory, merger control and State aid law. Whilst Stephen has developed extensive experience in advising clients in the utility sector, he also advises clients involved with software development, the production of medical products and those acting within the financial sector.

Tom Penmanspecialises in complex tax planning, structuring groups of companies, international tax, enquiries, providing tax efficient succession and inheritance tax planning and deals with all aspects of income tax and capital gains tax.

Jim Stafford is an experienced Insolvency Practitioner and forensic accountant with two years working in New York and five years working in London. He has been appointed as Liquidator/Receiver/Examiner to over 600 companies. He has also been involved in hundreds of corporate restructurings and is one of Ireland’s leading experts on Personal Insolvency and bankruptcy
