This 3 hour session will be delivered via Zoom on Tuesday 24
October from 2 pm to 5 pm. The Zoom link will be emailed to
participants the day before the course is due to take place.
Who should attend
A must attend session for any accounting practitioner who advises or provides
Company Secretarial Services to Republic of Ireland based clients.
Course overview
Topics to be covered during this session will include:
- Annual Return and other key company filings with the CRO – what is new for
Autumn 2023;
- Governance Issues relating to your clients - such as key Directors Duties
& Responsibilities, amending your Client Constitution and Transactions
with Directors and their family members;
- The Register of Beneficial Ownership - the key requirements, dealing with
discrepancies and updating the Register;
- The most common Summary Approval Procedures, such as in relation to
Director Loans and the reduction of Company Capital;
- Preparing for Voluntary Strike Off; and
- Likely Future Changes impacting this area into 2024.
- Key Accounting, Auditing and Ethical Issues in relation to client company
secretarial filings will also be addressed during this webinar, in addition to
recent Institute interactions with the CRO.

- Have a better understanding of the latest key Company Secretarial related
issues impacting both their clients and their own practices.
Speaker Bios
Conal Kennedy - Conal is Head of Practice Consulting in
Chartered Accountants Ireland. He and his team provide advice and support to
practices throughout Ireland, and publish a range of practice toolkits covering
audit, accounting and compliance. Over a 16 year period in Practice Consulting,
Conal has coached and advised many practices through major change events such as
mergers, acquisitions and retirements. He has also advised on practice
development and marketing.
