Please join us for a conversation with Cathy Shivnan, Director of Insolvency Supervision, at the Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA) and insights into the CEA’s insolvency agenda. The session will include some background on Cathy’s career and her journey from Revenue to CEA along with the evolution of the CEA from the ODCE.

This course will be delivered via Zoom on Thursday 5 October 2023 from 10 am to 11 am. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before the course is due to take place.

Who Should Attend?

This webinar is suitable for accountants, asset managers and bankers dealing with insolvency matters, and is suitable for all levels.

Course Overview

  • Directors - the do's and don'ts from CEA's experience

Key Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the role the CEA plays in Corporate Regulation.
  • Understand the issues CEA are seeing causing Directors difficulties.
  • Improve the quality of Liquidators reporting.
  • Get an understanding of developments in the Insolvency profession and what future legislation might bring.
  • Be able to explain the practical implications of decisions directors make in pre insolvency periods.

Speaker Bio's

Cathy Shivnan - Cathy Shivnan is Director of Insolvency Supervision. Cathy qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from University College Dublin. Prior to joining the CEA, Cathy worked with the Courts Service and in various roles in the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, including as a solicitor in the Commercial & Litigation team of the Revenue Solicitor's Division and as Head of Revenue's Dublin Insolvency Unit, where she managed all aspects of Revenue's involvement in liquidations, receiverships and examinerships.
