Directors Duties on Public Sector Boards

Summary

Many public sector entities see the need for accounting skillsets on their various boards, and professional accountants employed in this sector are often called upon to step into these roles. They need to ensure they are aware of what is involved, their duties, and the unique nature of some state bodies if going forward for these roles. The discussion will cover a range of organisations including state bodies, local government authorities, agencies and certain state funded entities (e.g. Section 39’s and local authorities Appendix A companies).
