Course overview
Some of the topics to be covered during this session will include:
- The key company filings with the CRO – how to ensure
your clients continue to meet their company law requirements and what is new
for Autumn 2025?
- Missing your Annual Return – what can you do?
- The key considerations relating to recent legislation
including the Companies (Corporate Governance, Enforcement and Regulatory
Provisions) Act 2024, the Employment (Collective Redundancies and
Miscellaneous Provisions) and Companies (Amendment) Act 2024 and the
Registration of Limited Partnerships and Business Names Bill 2024, as well as
the Charities (Amendment) Act 2024.
- Recently enacted changes to the loss of Audit
Exemption for late Filing and the practical implementation of these new rules.
- The latest Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA)
enforcement activity updates & guidance issued by the Authority.
- The Register of Beneficial Ownership - the key
requirements, dealing with discrepancies, accessing and updating the Register;
and
- The most common Company Secretarial changes.
Recent Institute interactions with the CRO will also be a focus area, while
time will also be set aside for your questions on this topic.

Speaker Bios
Conal Kennedy FCA - Conal is Head of Practice Consulting in
Chartered Accountants Ireland. He and his team provide advice and support to
practices throughout Ireland, and publish a range of practice toolkits covering
audit, accounting and compliance. Over a 18 year period in Practice Consulting,
Conal has coached and advised many practices through major change events such as
mergers, acquisitions and retirements. He has also advised on practice
development and marketing.
Jeremy Twomey FCA - Jeremy in his role
as Practice Consulting Manager works to support our member practitioners across
our service areas, with a particular focus on compliance support, training and
our associated advisory services. Jeremy is a Fellow of the Institute, having
trained with Ernst & Young; he has held senior management positions across
both financial and professional services, as well as the public sector.
Conor Sweeney - Conor is a qualified
Chartered Secretary of in excess of 20 years’ experience, who in 2014 founded
CLS Chartered Secretaries. CLS provides specialist company secretarial services
to accountants, solicitors, and tax advisors, while Conor also has extensive
