Just published by Revenue: Updated Frequently Asked Questions (version 6) on the operation of the COVID-19: Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme.

These updated FAQs answer some of the questions from members such as:

  • the impact of the subsidy on pension contributions and pensionable pay;
  • treatment of PRSI contributions and insurable weeks for employees; and
  • the calculation of employers’ PRSI. 

We are working through this document, and other updates following the Minister for Finance’s announcement (15 April) of changes to the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme. A phase 2 of the scheme will be effective from 4 May 2020, for payroll submissions on or after that date. 

Future versions of the FAQs document by Revenue will be updated to incorporate these changes. We will provide more details on the updates from Revenue that issued today and any further revision to their FAQs on our COVID-19 Hub.
