The latest COVID-19 support scheme statistics include information on the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS), the Business Resumption Support Scheme (BRSS), the Covid Restrictions Support Scheme (CRSS) and the Debt Warehousing Scheme.
Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme
There are 38,100 employers currently registered with Revenue for EWSS. This excludes 17,100 employers who were previously registered. Total EWSS payments amount to almost €4.7 billion. In September to date, €89.8 million in EWSS payments have been paid to 17,800 employers in support of 206,500 employments.
Business Resumption Support Scheme
Under the BRSS a qualifying person can make a claim for a single payment which will be equal to three times the average weekly turnover of the relevant business activity for the applicable reference. Registration for BRSS opened on 6 September 2021. So far, 146 applications have been received for the BRSS.

Covid Restrictions Support Scheme
There are currently 3,400 businesses with 4,000 premises registered for CRSS with Revenue. The total CRSS claimed amounts to €699 million. Of the 19,900 premises claiming the CRSS since 10 May, 17,000 premises have claimed “Restart Weeks”. Those who have claimed “Restart Weeks” are now trading without the support of the CRSS.
Debt Warehousing
Over 95,000 individual businesses availed on the Debt Warehousing Scheme. This includes 2,700 Large Cases and Medium Enterprises Divisions taxpayers. The amount of tax debt warehoused at the end of August 2021 is as follows:
