Last week the Statutory Sick Pay (“SSP”) rebate scheme was relaunched and the guidance is now live.
Employers could be eligible for support if they employed fewer than 250 employees on 30 November 2021 and they have paid SSP to their employees for COVID-19 related sickness absences.
They may be able to reclaim up to two weeks’ SSP which they have paid to their employees, at the relevant standard weekly rate of £96.35, for any eligible periods of COVID-19 sickness from 21 December 2021. This is a new claims period.
Employers may be able to claim irrespective of whether employers claimed for that employee under the previous scheme.
